Palazzo del Sedile

This splendid building overlooks the square of the same name and houses the Egidio Romualdo Duni State Music Conservatory.
Built in 1540, in 1779 the Palace underwent restoration work which gave it its current conformation.
A large entry arch characterises the entrance, while at the top you can admire two Rococo towers; on one there is a sundial, on the other a clock.
In the centre, the statues of the Patron Saints of Matera do not go unnoticed: Saint Eustace, on the left, and the Madonna della Bruna, on the right.
An auditorium has been built in the basement, used to host concerts and cultural events.
